Chi Flat Irons / Hair Straighteners?

I'm thinking about buying one, so I have a few questions:
1) how much did you pay for yours or what's the general price range? (USD please)
2) where can I buy one for a decent price? (In the US)
3) is it true that it protects your hair from humidity?
4) is there more then one type of CHI brand iron? If so which one is the best, or what are the diffrences?
5) If not CHI - what is another brand of flat iron that preforms just as well/better and how much would it cost (USD) and where can I find it?

well to be honest with you a friend of mine had a chi and i bought a 50$ ceramic iron at my local sally’s and mine worked better. just make sure whatever iron u buy has a temp control on it. one that can go as high as 400 degrees i truly believe that temp has alot ot do with it. the ceramic just smooths better, they both fry your hair so dont get fooled into thinking that a more expensive iron wont. it will. also look for a smaller iron (slim) about 1 inch wide try to stay away from wide flat irons they are harder to control. good luck!! sally’s also sells a generic version of the chi! site below
GHD’S are just as good as chi they use them in nearly every hair salon, chi are good aswell tho, i payed 105 pound for my GHD’S. and you can buy them in any hair salon

The straightener you use won't de-frizz your hair. Straightening your hair with any regular straightener w/out any hair products will make your hair even more frizzier and it won't stay straight well. Make sure you use a heat protection spray and also a smoothing lotion along with that will make your hair silker and control frizz and fly-away hairs. I recommend Got2b brand products for those 2 things, i use them and they're great.
btw, this straightener is awesome. Not many people seem to know about this brand, but it was rated better than CHI straighteners:

Definitely the bowl. Like someone else mentioned, it will be easier to clean.
Sam, you should look for one with rounded edges in the bottom of the box, as I recommended above. If they don’t exist, they should. someone should sell them like that for cleaning ease.
Sorry, but your math doesn't add up. If you can hit your driver 300+, you obviously would have a 110+ MPH swing speed. You would be able to "chip" your 7 iron 140 yards.
I hit my driver about 250-260 yards, and my 7 iron 150-160 yards.
If I'm missing something, and you are accurate with your description, then here's what I would do:
It sounds like you are "scooping" your iron shots, as you would normally do with a driver.
Hit down on the ball, lower your trajectory a bit, and you will get more distance.
You must have one heck of a short game with a 6 handicap!!

well it would take between 10-12 hours to do the job, so, maybe not, if only one guy working on it..so is in the ball park with price.
People cut there hair and have it proffesionally made into a wig or hair extension.
Im not sure what screen you have, but I'm willing to bet that it is either a cheap screen or a computer LCD. The vast majority of computer screens use TN (twisted nematic) technolgy. This is the cheapest type of LCD, but offers very fast response time (so it is good for games and fast action movies).
The weak spot of these screens is the limited viewing angle, especially from below. As you look from the sides, the colors start to invert and/or become blurry. There is no way to fix this.
The best thing you can do is tilt the screen so it faces you, or faces slightly below you.
